Service Manager - Restorative Justice Services
Job title: Service Manager
Reporting to: CEO
Location: Marshalsea Court, Merchant’s Quay, Dublin 8 - however, travel will be associated with this post.
Working Hours: Full -Time (39h/week including paid and unpaid break)
Contract Type: Permanent subject to funding
Salary Scale: 48,410 - 57,804 EUR – Depending on experience
Must be available to work between 8.00am – 18.00 Monday to Friday based on the needs of the Organisation. Working outside of these hours, including evenings and weekends, may be an occasional feature of this role and will be considered to be part of normal working conditions associated with the post.
Background to the Role
The Service Manager will report directly to the CEO and will be part of the
Leadership Team. They will manage the Service Team and will be required to work closely with all teams across the Organisation.
Role Responsibilities
Organisational Leadership
· Contribute to Organisational strategy and decision-making including working together with the Board as part of the Leadership Team to deliver Restorative Justice Services’ Strategic Plan 2026-2029.
· Nurture good relationships between Restorative Justice Services’ Teams, coordination of work and promote cross team collaboration.
· Represent the Organisation’s values and professional standards in all arenas.
Services Leadership
· Lead and support the Services team in their contribution to the implementation of Restorative Justice Services’ Strategic Plan 2026-2029.
· Ensure that Services are run as per best standards of practices, through monitoring, review and development.
· Contribute to and support compliance with all aspects RJS legal and statutory obligations, i.e., health and safety, GDPR, cyber security, human resources and other obligations as required.
· Manage and analyse relevant services data to monitor, support and develop RJS activities.
Services Team Staff and Volunteers Management
· Manage the Services Team Staff and volunteers in working within the ethos and standards of practice of Restorative Justice Services.
· Oversee the induction and professional development of staff, fostering team capacity and development.
· Provide support and supervision to staff as per RJS policies.
· Manage performance and associated processes as per RJS policies.
· Support and manage RJS volunteers through agreed structured and forum.
Communication and Representation
· Deputise for the CEO and act as a representative of RJS as required.
· Manage and effectively communicate with RJS internal and external stakeholders
· Participate and represent RJS as required on relevant fora as appropriate.
Other duties
· Attend and actively participate in the individual, team and organisational meetings as per required.
· Perform as a team member to ensure effective and quality service delivery, respectfully and collaboratively with all RJS staff, volunteers and directors as required.
- Be familiar with and abide by the Organisation’s policies and procedures.
- Assist with the running of any of other RJS’s activities as required
- Contribute to the wider strategic development of the Organisation.
- Ensure that the vision and values of the Organisation are reflected in a consistent manner in all activities.

Person Specification
Essential
- A relevant third-level qualification (e.g. Management, Community Development, Social Science, Social Care, Youth Work or Education).
· At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role, including management of a team, management and development of services and team.
· A good understanding of the unique challenges of the community and voluntary sector and/or the justice sector.
· Working knowledge of the Irish Criminal Justice system.
· Working knowledge of Restorative Justice processes and principles.
· A demonstrated ability in programme design and delivery.
· Previous experience working with adult and young people impacted by crime (as harm-doers or victims/survivors).
· Excellent planning and organisational abilities.
· The ability to evaluate information from several sources, make effective decisions and problem solve in a timely manner.
· The ability to administer and oversee programme funding.
· A high degree of motivation and resilience.
· A high level of discretion and professional integrity.
· Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills to foster collaboration and maintain a positive work culture
· A demonstrated ability to build effective relationships across all levels and sectors.
· Strong English written and oral communication skills, along with proficiency in IT tools and systems.
· Capacity to work on their own initiative and as part of team.
· Full driving licence and access to a car.
Desirable
· Restorative justice/Restorative Practice training/qualification.
· Prior Restorative Justice/Restorative Practice experience
