Wish to invite applications for the position of
Community Development Worker
Full time (35 hours per week)
This person will work as part of a team implementing the workplan actions for Bere, Whiddy & Dursey Islands as prioritised by The Bere Island Projects Group CLG management team.
The person appointed should have:
- Experience in Community Development
- Relevant 3rd level qualification (desired but not essential)
- Excellent knowledge of islands and island issues
- Understanding of community development and social inclusion issues
- Experience of facilitating groups in a community setting, organising community events including working with children and the youth
- Experience of project planning, applying for funding and networking with voluntary & statutory agencies
- Excellent skills in facilitation, report-writing interpersonal, communication, organisational and IT skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and on their own initiative
- Full clean drivers licence and access to own transport is essential
As there is a requirement to work alongside children, the successful candidate’s appointment would be subject to satisfactory Garda Vetting.
