Established in 1840, the DSPCA has grown to be the leading and largest animal welfare charity in Ireland over the last 185 years. We exist uniquely to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome sick, injured and cruelly treated animals.
In this public-facing role, you’ll engage directly with supporters – both over the phone and in person – inspiring them to make a lasting impact by giving regularly. You'll help deliver successful telefundraising campaigns, engage visitors at the shelter, and represent the DSPCA with warmth, professionalism, and integrity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct outbound telemarketing calls to existing, lapsed, and potential donors, explaining our work, and encouraging them to contribute on a monthly basis.
- Engage in face-to-face conversations with visitors on-site, inspiring them to become long-term monthly donors.
- Help deliver and monitor telefundraising campaigns, including assisting with scripts, targeting, and monitoring results.
- Follow up with donors to confirm pledges and ensure accurate, timely data entry in our CRM system (Salesforce).
- Meet or exceed weekly targets for donor acquisition and retention, with a focus on quality and long-term value.
- Maintain accurate and confidential donor information in accordance with data protection legislation and financial best practices.
- Represent the DSPCA with professionalism and positivity, acting as an ambassador for our mission and values.
- Provide general administrative support, including reporting, supporting campaigns, and assisting with donor communications as needed.
Requirements:
- A positive, outgoing personality with excellent communication skills.
- Confidence in engaging people in conversation and motivating them to act.
- Resilience and determination to achieve fundraising goals.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Experience in customer service, sales, or fundraising (especially face-to-face or telemarketing) is a major advantage.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and the mission of the DSPCA.
