
Seal Rescue Ireland (SRI) is a registered charity which operates a busy seal rescue and education centre located in Courtown, Co. Wexford. The only facility of its kind in Ireland, SRI responds to seal reports nationwide and works tirelessly to rescue and rehabilitate seal pups that are found sick, injured, and orphaned from around the coast of Ireland with the aim to rehabilitate the pups to full health and release them back to the wild. SRI promotes ocean conservation and sustainability through education and community outreach programmes, in order to protect our marine environment and all life within.
Job Summary:
The Fundraising and Community Manager reports directly to the General Manager. The Manager will be responsible for managing our fundraising objectives and community engagement, and assisting in daily operations at the SRI Centre. SRI is a small facility with a big mission. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a highly enthusiastic, proactive, and creative individual to join the team.. This role is based at the Seal Rescue Centre in Courtown.
Responsibilities (this list is not exhaustive)
Fundraising
- Planning and delivery of integrated fundraising campaigns in collaboration with senior management.
- Build and maintain strong donor relationships.
- Lead community and corporate fundraising initiatives, fostering strong and lasting partnerships.
- Coordinate the Corporate Volunteering Programme, delivering both onsite and virtual experiences.
- Oversee corporate donations and grants, liaising with partners and relevant platforms.
- Plan and deliver outreach activities and public events to raise awareness and generate support.
- Manage event logistics, including scheduling, resources, compliance, and on-site coordination.
- Management of stock and donations, cash handling etc.
- Maintaining databases using Excel, Checkfront and Salesforce CRM
Education & Outreach
- Deliver an engaging education programme across onsite, offsite, and virtual formats.
- Facilitate tours, workshops, and presentations for a wide range of audiences.
- Develop partnerships with community groups, and organisations to expand programme reach.
- Train and support interns and volunteers in delivering high-quality educational experiences.
- Contribute to the development of educational content across digital platforms, including social media and newsletters.
Operations & Administration
- Maintain and develop systems for bookings, supporter engagement, and programme delivery (e.g. CRM and booking platforms).
- Support the effective coordination of resources, materials, and event requirements.
- Contribute to reporting, data analysis, and continuous improvement of programmes and activities.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Relevant third-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience working within the charity or non-profit sector, with an understanding of fundraising principles.
- Strong written, communication and public speaking skills with the ability to inspire support and adapt communications for different audiences.
- Experience in event planning, stakeholder engagement, and content development.
- Strong organisational, administrative, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and take initiative.
Desirable
- Knowledge of environmental, conservation, or marine-related topics.
- Experience in a management or supervisory role.
- Background in tourism, education, or public engagement.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, booking platforms, or design tools (e.g. Canva, Checkfront, Salesforce).
- Full, clean driving licence.

They must be a team player with an open and flexible attitude. We are seeking someone creative and who can work closely with the small team of staff and volunteers.
Hours: Average of 38 hrs per week, including weekend work and some public holidays.
