Contract: Fixed term to 31 December 2026, Roles will continue subject to funding. A range of Full and Part-time opportunities are available
Salary: €37,498 – €57,961 (Depending on Experience) This is the fulltime salary for 37 hours. Part-time hours will be pro-rata accordingly.

What’s the role and service?
In your role as a Project Worker you will provide an individual and group therapeutic service which responds to the needs of birth parents, adopted adults, adults who were boarded out as children and individuals subject to an illegal birth registration who are referred to the service using a trauma informed approach.
What will my day to day look like?
· Planning, implementing and reviewing programmes for adults based on an assessment of their individual and group needs.
· Working with adults in a variety of ways, including group work and individual work. Both centre based and outreach work will be required.
· Working closely with other members of the service to ensure the most appropriate offering of support is made available to service users.
· Being vigilant for signs or concerns of physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect in regard to retrospective disclosures. To bring any concerns to the attention of the Designated Person and in keeping with Barnardos Child Protection Policy
What experience do I need?
· A minimum of two years’ experience in working with adults in a therapeutic setting. This may consist of up to 1 year relevant, equivalent pre-qualification experience and at least 1 year post-qualification experience.
· Experience in working with adults affected by early loss/trauma.
· Experience in facilitating group work is an advantage.
· Specific experience in working in the field of adults impacted by adoption and foster care is highly desirable.
Do I need a qualification?
Yes, A recognised third level practice qualification (minimum Level 7 on the QQI) in one of the following: Social Work, Social Care, Psychology or Psychiatric Nursing
An additional relevant therapeutic qualification is desirable, such as Counselling, Psychotherapy, Art Therapy or Family Therapy, though not essential.
Applicants with a Social Care or Social Work qualification must be registered with CORU as a Social Care Worker or Social Worker respectively.
Those eligible for CORU registration who are currently in the process of registration through their qualification, or under CORU’s transitional arrangements (grandparenting route) will be required to provide evidence that this in process.
A full driving licence and access to the use of a suitably insured vehicle is essential.
