Sage provided information, support and advocacy services to more than 12,000 people (cases & queries) in 2024 and demand for its services is growing. The work of Sage on behalf of clients is independent of family, service provider or systems interests. The service is free of charge and confidential. In the context of recent and planned legislative, health and social care developments, of growing demand for our services and of our 2nd Statement of Strategy ‘The Next Stage’, Sage is now recruiting for the following roles:
Regional Advocate Dublin & Northeast x 1
The purpose of the Regional Advocate is to lead on complex advocacy cases supported by case management safeguarding legal and data analysis skills. Secondary purposes include: provision of support and advocacy services to key groups and individuals such as institutional abuse and vulnerable older persons with little or no circle of support; growing awareness of Sage advocacy and its services at regional level; developing a deep understanding of an strong working relationships with the structures and systems of the emerging HSE Regional Health Authorities; ‘mapping’ service providers and resources based on national guidelines; identifying and developing opportunities to tackle systemic issues at regional and national levels. Regional Advocate Care Transitions Dublin & Northeast x 1
The primary purpose of the Regional Advocate Focused on Care Transitions is to provide an enhanced independent advocacy service to older people and vulnerable adults in transitions between care settings with a particular emphasis on supporting hospital and community-based staff in managing transfers of care and transitional care issues related, but not limited to decision-making capacity, safeguarding, protection of liberty, end of life care and identifying systems issues that arise.
The work will involve building effective working relationships with Senior Management Teams of Integrated Care Areas and them acute hospitals within them. Please find attached Recruitment pack for the role and Application form.

Legal Advisor (Maternity Cover) x 1
The primary purpose of the Legal Advisor is: To provide timely and effective internal legal advice, guidance, and support to Sage Advocacy staff and volunteers working with and on behalf of older people, vulnerable adults, and survivors of institutional abuse. Information, Communications Lead x 1
To enable Sage Advocacy to respond to the information and resource needs of service staff, clients and their families, service providers, funders and stakeholders; to support the systems and policy change work of the organisation with government departments and agencies, members of the Oireachtas and national, local and Online media; to provide a public voice on behalf of clients with regard to the often complex and challenging issues which they experience.
