OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The overall purpose of the Support Trainer Role (One year Temporary Contract) is to support learners undertaking the education programmes, at QQI level 3 and 4.
The main responsibilities include
- Plan, organize and facilitate two QQI modules, Level 3 and Level 4 - Career Preparation in Semester 1, runs September 2026 to end of February 2027
- Plan, organize and facilitate two QQI modules, Level 3 and Level 4 - Work Experience in Semester 2, runs March 2026 to end of July 2027
- Ensure that requirements set out by funding providers, DDLETB, are met on training content, delivery, reporting and feedback records.
- Co-ordinate learners portfolio’s for the training modules so that they are completed to the standard required for certification
The Support Trainer is part of the small team that ensures the smooth running of all services in the Centre nurturing a philosophy of wellness recovery to empower those attending all its services to embrace the idea of personal change.
QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
* Bachelors degree or above essential (NFQ 7 or above) in training and education, career guidance, social care, social work, counselling, psychology or similar
* QQI level 6 qualification in facilitation and training, such as Train the Trainer is desirable
* 2 years minimum experience in Adult Education and Training, wellbeing and or mental health support role is desirable
SKILLS AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
* Knowledge and understanding of the challenges people face with mental health as well as mental health recovery
* A coaching approach when working with people one to one
* Facilitation skills
* Excellent organization skills with the ability to devise systems and ways of working
* IT proficiency and Microsoft Office skills
* Ability to work well within a team but also ability to motivate, develop and direct people
WORKING REQUIREMENTS and CONDITIONS
30 hour week - exclusive of ½ hr lunch break
Hourly rate €19 to € 22 an hour
Hours: Monday to Thursday 9.15am -4.00pm Friday 9.15 am to 2.45 pm
