Contract: Part-Time – 12 hours per week (minimum) and Fixed term contract for 1 year
Salary: €11,056– €17,151 Depending on Experience. This is the pro-rated salary for 12hrs.

This project is part of a new Barnardos service plan for a base to serve County Clare. The post-holder will be managed by the Project Co-Ordinator working across counties Clare and Limerick.
Background Information
Barnardos provides an integrated family support and targeted early intervention service, which also includes Childhood Domestic Violence (CDVA) /TLC projects, across 12 counties currently; including North Tipperary, Limerick, Cavan-Monaghan Dublin- Wicklow and for example.
The new project in Clare (expected to be based in Ennis) will also host a Young Parents Support Programme as part of National strategy. Barnardos is seeking to expand Childhood Domestic Violence and Abuse Projects and Family support programmes to the County Clare region.
Information about the Childhood Domestic Violence (CDV)/ TLC Kidz Project
The Project works with children and families who have experienced gender-based violence and abuse. The project involves a co-ordinated inter-agency response at a local community level which raises awareness of the impact of domestic violence and abuse on children. Barnardos aims to target directly the needs of children and their families.
The core work of the project is;
- To raise awareness of impact of domestic violence and abuse on children in the Clare and mid-west region
- To support agencies to develop a shared responsibility for the issue of domestic violence and abuse in the area and develop/support a community mechanism to enable this.
- To increase capacity of organisations and service providers to identify and respond to domestic violence and abuse and its impact on children
- To link children and their families with an appropriate response/service to meet their needs with regard to their experience of domestic abuse as required; including linking children and their families with specialist domestic abuse services as needed and/or with family support for a holistic response to their needs as needed (Meitheal, Family Support, Youth Work)
- To co-ordinate all aspects of the TLC Kidz Concurrent Group work Programme for children who have experienced DVA and for their mothers.
- This Project Worker position adds a new strand to the Project as collaborative partnership between Tusla Social Work, Tusla PPFS and Barnardos with the objective of providing a family support response to children and their families living with domestic violence and abuse.
A full driving licence and access to the use of a suitably insured car is essential.
Job purpose
To develop and implement programmes that respond to the needs of children and families in the Midwest Clare-Limerick region who are living with Domestic Violence and Abuse

Experience
· A minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience of working with vulnerable children and families.
· Experience of working in partnership with families and carers.
· Experience of planning, implementing and reviewing programmes with children and/or families.
Qualifications
A recognised third level practice qualification (minimum Level 7 on the QQI, Course content should include relevant student placements) in one of the following:
- Early Childhood Care and Education
- Social Care
- Education
- Social Work
- Youth Work
- Or related discipline (Nursing, Psychology, and Early Years Education).
A full driving licence and access to the use of a suitably insured car is essential.
The post-holder is initially assigned to work in the County Clare service but may be required in the future to work in other locations in the Midwest region in line with Organisational needs.
