Job title: Financial Administrator (Part-Time)
Location: Gorey Family Resource Centre, Mc Dermott Street, Gorey, Y25KT98
Salary: Based on experience, full time scale starts at€34,133.00, pro rata basis applies.
Hours: Flexible part-time hours, agreed with the Centres business needs.
Contract: Part-time, permanent (subject to continuous funding), 6-month probation.
Reporting to: Centre Manager
Garda Vetting: Required
We are seeking an experienced Financial Administrator who will play a key role in both managing our finances and supporting the wider administrative needs of the Centre.
While a significant part of this role involves financial responsibilities such as maintaining accounts, processing payroll, and preparing reports, you will also contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the office. This includes general administrative duties such as maintaining records, managing correspondence, organising office supplies, assisting with social media and event preparation, and providing practical support to staff and visitors.
You will work closely with the Centre Manager and the wider team, ensuring that all financial and administrative tasks are performed in an accurate, professional, and timely manner. This is a varied and rewarding role that combines structure and detail with people-focused community work.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Administration
- Maintain accurate accounts in line with policies and procedures.
- Process payroll (Brightpay), PRSI, PAYE, and ROS submissions.
- Manage banking, donations, receipts, and lodgements.
- Manage invoices, payments, and online banking.
- Consult with auditors/accountants and prepare reports (monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Prepare budgets and reconcile spending against budget.
- Maintain financial governance, proof of expenditure, and asset records.
- Assist with grant applications and funding reports.
General Administration
- Keep the office organised, stocked, and running efficiently.
- Oversee general maintenance and coordinate newsletters.
- Maintain accessible records and manage correspondence.
- Support staff with administrative tasks, social media and event planning.
- Assist in preparing and submitting funding reports and applications.
Team & Community Support
- Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive environment.
- Participate in team meetings, planning, and training.
- Handle queries, respond to emails, and provide relevant information.
- Maintain confidentiality and a safe working environment.
What We Are Looking For
Essential
- Qualification in accounting technician or business administration
- Proven experience in a financial administration role (community or non-profit preferred)
- Strong organisational skills, diligence, and time management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and relevant software
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive, professional, and adaptable approach
Desirable
- Experience in non-profit or community-based organisations
- Familiarity with Sage, bookkeeping, and grant funding systems
- Knowledge of local community resources
