About Us
Wexford Rape Crisis is a client-centred support service dedicated to individuals affected by domestic, sexual, or gender-based violence. With a commitment to providing support to women, men, young people aged 12 and upwards, and individuals of all gender and sexual identities, Wexford Rape Crisis upholds the belief that violence and sexual abuse are violations of human rights. Their core values emphasize that no form of violence is acceptable, and they offer an empathetic, non-judgmental, and empowering environment to facilitate healing and recovery for all survivors.
Established in 1995 as a response to the Kilkenny Incest Investigation, Wexford Rape Crisis has since grown to provide a range of services including counselling, advocacy, and public awareness campaigns. Through outreach centres in Gorey, Enniscorthy, and New Ross, the organisation ensures survivors across County Wexford have access to confidential, sensitive, and high-quality support. The service was rebranded in 2019, and today, it continues to work collaboratively with other organisations to uphold best practices in supporting survivors, preventing violence, and ensuring child safeguarding. All counsellors at Wexford Rape Crisis are professionally qualified and accredited.
